Police on rape alert after attack on boy

POLICE are keeping a special watch on the Great Lines area of Medway after the brutal rape of a teenage schoolboy by a gang of Eastern Europeans.

The 14-year-old boy was subjected to the sickening attack after being pounced on as he left his Gillingham home and then dragged to the popular walking and recreation area.

Police teams are patrolling The Lines after the assault and a series of other disturbing approaches to young men in the last month.

The attack on the teenager happened as he was walking from York Avenue, Gillingham, down an alleyway towards Chatham Hill on Thursday, August 15, between 8.30pm and 9.45pm. Police are appealing for witnesses.

The first youth is described as aged between 14 and 17, 5ft 4in, of medium build with dark curly hair and a moustache. He was wearing a dirty white woollen long-sleeve top and blue jeans.

The second is aged about 18, 5ft 7in, skinny with black curly hair and sideburns. He was wearing light clothing and tatty trainers with a black pattern and muddy, untied laces. He was smoking a cigarette in his left hand.

The third was also about 18 and 5ft 7in with short black hair which had a swirl pattern cut into one side. He was wearing dark blue jogging trousers and tatty trainers.
