Police are investigating reports a six-year-old was assaulted by three teenagers while out playing.

Officers received a report at 5.50pm yesterday he was attacked in Allhallows play park, Avery Way, earlier that evening.

The boy's mother also reported that the boy was taken from the park by a group of boys to a lake at the back of Allhallows Golf Club.

Police said no injuries were reported.

Press officer James Walker said: "Officers have spoken with the victim’s parents and seized items which may contain evidence linked to the case.

"An appointment has also been made to speak with the victim.

"At present, no arrests have been made and officers are conducting ongoing inquiries."
