Police searching for missing soldier Josh Thomas, have renewed their appeal to find two BMX riders seen cycling in the area at the time of his disappearance.
Detectives want to speak to the riders who were seen in Corporation Street, Rochester, during the early hours of Wednesday, April 10.
Josh, 18 (pictured left), who is a solider from Brompton Barracks, was seen on CCTV at about 1am, shortly after a friend last saw him outside the City Wall pub.
He was walking on Rochester Bridge, when a black hatchback car stopped and the driver seemed to talked to Josh.
Following a media appeal, the driver has now come forward and provided officers with information.
Detectives are now focusing their search on the last CCTV sighting of Josh heading towards Gas House Road which leads to the River Medway.
Josh, who is 5ft 9in, of slim build with short brown hair, was wearing a dark blue Lyle and Scott jumper with white and red collar, grey jeans and white Converse trainers.
Josh’s dad, Gary, came to Rochester on Thursday to speak to police and see for himself the area where his son went missing.
Mr Thomas, who lives in West Glamorgan, Wales, came to Kent with his mother, Josh’s grandmother, however they did not do any media interviews while they were here.
Investigating officer DS Rik Spicer said: “We now are focusing our attention on known last CCTV sightings of Josh heading towards Gas House Road.
“We know that two males on BMX bikes were cycling past that area, along Corporation Street, just minutes after sight of Josh is lost.
“I am appealing to those two people who were in that area shortly after 1am to come forward and let us know if you saw Josh and where.
“It is important to point out that you are not in trouble, we just want to learn of Josh’s last movements and you may hold vital information on this.” CCTV image of Josh
