Police spotted on roof of block of flats on St Mary’s Island, Chatham, amid domestic incident

Police were spotted on top of a block of flats after they were called to a domestic incident.

Officers cordoned off Edgewater on St Mary’s Island, Chatham, after they were called to an incident this afternoon.

Fire crews were also called to assist.

Footage sent to KentOnline shows officers on top of a block of flats, where they can be heard making an arrest.

A police spokesperson said: “We responded to a domestic incident today at 2.05pm in Edgewater, St Mary’s Island.

“A man was arrested in connection to the incident.”

The force could not yet provide further information about what the man was arrested on suspicion of.

It is understood the fire service was called to assist in ensuring the man and police were able to get down safely.
