A fireworks display will swap the traditional bonfire for a musical laser show.
Great Lines Heritage Park, Brompton, will be hosting the Towns’ biggest free fireworks night on Saturday.
However, this year there’s no bonfire after the council was unable to secure a contractor.
It was supposed to be lit by Mayor of Medway Cllr Habib Tejan at 7pm.
Instead, the sky will be lit up with laser beams followed by fireworks at 7.30pm.
There will be hot food and drinks available but there are no public toilets provided.
People are not allowed to bring their own fireworks and pets are not allowed.
There is no parking on site. Instead people can use Britton Farm car park, in Jeffery Street, Gillingham.
Charges will still apply. There will be road closures in Marlborough Road between its junctions with Brompton Road and York Avenue, 6pm-9pm, and Lock Street, Paget Street and Stafford Street will also be affected.
Brompton Road will be shut between Mill Road and Prince Arthur Road, 7pm-8.30pm, and Mill Road will be one-way 6pm-8.15pm.
