Poundstretcher is set to open in Gillingham High Street next week.
It’s holding a grand opening on Wednesday, August 30, after replacing the former book and stationery shop, which closed in January last year.
Mayor Nina Gurung is cutting the ribbon to open the store which is part of a number of new shops opening across the UK – with the Medway Towns site the 17th shop to open this year.
People who go along at 10am will be met by a local entertainer running games and activities with the £250 worth of shopping vouchers up for grabs.
Before that, at 9.30am the store will be running a charity trolley dash for the benefit of Medway Foodbank, where the charity will be given the opportunity to fill a trolley with as many products as possible within 60 seconds.
Property director Gerry Loughran said: “We are pleased to be re-opening a brand new store for the people of Gillingham to access our wide range of offers and products.
“The team is working hard to deliver an outstanding shopping experience, great service, and an enjoyable shopping environment for all our old and new customers.
“We are expecting massive queues for our opening day specials, including an action-packed morning, so come early to not miss out.”
