A sell-out show by top comedian Lee Mack had to be cancelled because of a power cut.
The Not Going Out star was due to perform at the Central Theatre, Chatham for one night on Sunday as part of his nationwide tour.
A Medway Council spokesman apologised to fans and said the cancellation was due to a "major power failure" at the High Street Theatre.
Power was interrupted to 21 customers in the High Street and Railway Street area at 9am on Sunday and was not restored until the early hours of this morning (Monday).
A spokesman for EDF Energy Networks said the power cut was caused by a fault at a local substation.
She added: “We recognise how important electricity is for all our customers and would like to apologise for the inconvenience caused. We are particularly sorry that a performance at the Central Theatre was affected by this incident. A senior manager contacted the theatre this morning to update them on our work and to apologise for the disruption caused.”
A spokesman for the Central Theatre said: “Theatre staff were able to contact the vast majority of bookers in good time by telephone, supported by announcements on local radio, to inform them of the cancellation and staff were on hand outside the building until 7.45pm last night to meet any customers who could not be contacted and to explain the situation.”
The Central Theatre is still trying to reschedule another date on the Lee Mack tour. Staff will be contacting anyone with tickets for last night’s show in the next few days to inform them of the outcome of negotiations.
Tickets for last night's show will be automatically valid for the new date. Any customers who cannot make the new date will be given a full refund. If a new date cannot be arranged, all customers will be given refunds.
