Inspectors said pupils are highly motivated and engaged in learning and that staff teach learning behaviours and routines.

The report said there is an “unwavering thread” of respect for others that runs throughout the school and bullying is not tolerated.

It stated: “Pupils are confident that leaders would ‘intervene in a flash’ if bullying occurred.”

Inspectors found pupils are excited about their learning and a “learning buzz” is present at the school, which is part of Leigh Academies Trust.

The arrangements for safeguarding are effective and pupils have “absolute trust” in their teachers to keep them safe, said the report.

Staff teach pupils how to behave through clear routines and children know what is expected of them, it added.

The report describes the school as exceptional “in every way” and says leaders have a “relentless ambition” for every pupil to achieve highly.

“This is a testament to the ambition we have for every pupil to reach their full potential...”

The inspection took place on June 20 and 21. High Halstow’s last rating was “good”.

“I am extremely proud of our pupils’ excitement about their learning, which permeates the entire school and is a true testament to the learning culture we have established.

“We are honoured to receive this recognition, but we will continue to strive for excellence in everything we do to ensure all of our pupils continue to thrive.”

Leigh Academies Trust CEO, Simon Beamish, said: “This is a remarkable achievement for High Halstow Primary Academy.
