The Prime Minister has been in Kent as the countdown to the general election campaign continues.
With less than three weeks until voters go to the polls, David Cameron paid a private visit to Rochester Airport with his wife Samantha.
He was met by Kelly Tolhurst who is the Conservative candidate in Rochester and Strood.
She is making her second bid to become the area's MP after narrowly losing to UKip's Mark Reckless in a by-election last November.
The meeting was to discuss investment and jobs in the constituency
In February Medway Council approved plans for the major redevelopment of Rochester Airport including a new lit and paved runway, two hangars, a control tower, car parking and family viewing area.
The government has provided £4 million of funding to the project which is set to create 1,000 jobs.
The Prime Minister said: “It was great to visit Rochester Airport to discuss with Kelly how the £4million investment will support the creation of hundreds of new jobs – meaning more people in Rochester and Strood with the stability and security of a regular pay packet.
“On May 7th, your vote will really count. It’s the difference between a strong Conservative team, including Kelly Tolhurst, seeing through our long-term economic plan and delivering more jobs and a brighter future for Britain; or an SNP-led Ed Miliband government, and all the debt, taxes and borrowing and economic chaos that will bring.”
Following the visit, the Prime Minister and his wife joined Vaisakhi celebrations in Gravesend.
