A top Tory councillor is to be investigated after allegations were made about her conduct during a recent trip to China.
Cllr Jane Chitty, who represents Strood North ward, will be reported to Medway Council's standards committee as a result of an official complaint.
The former Mayor of Rochester was part of a group of delegates from the Towns who spent several days in Foshan and Hong Kong in February.
The complaint was made by local businessman Lloyd Davis, who owns the Davis Motor Company in Chatham High Street.
The former special constable was part of the delegation along with his 16-year-old daughter.
He has accused Cllr Chitty, pictured above, of acting inappropriately.
Cllr Chitty has been a councillor for 28 years. She is the portfolio holder for strategic planning and chairman of the council's international relations committee.
Medway Council has been developing friendship links with Foshan since 2003 with the help of the Medway Dragon and Lion Dance Association and the Medway-based Kut O Chinese Association.
The latest trip to China was an unofficial visit, paid for by the city of Foshan and the delegates themselves.
A spokesman for Medway Council said the complaint will be referred to its standards committee.
Cllr Chitty said: "I am aware a complaint has been received and it will be dealt with in due course."
