Residents will have another chance to question council bosses at the next public event.
Medway Council is hosting its second Medway Matters Live on November 12, where council leaders give the public an update on the authority’s key projects and answer questions.
It will take place at the Historic Dockyard in Chatham. Council leader Cllr Vince Maple (Lab) and the authority’s chief executive Richard Hicks will give presentations about what the authority is doing across the Towns and what the future holds.
Then they will face some questions from former BBC South East broadcast journalist and Medway resident Rob Smith before opening up to the audience.
There will also be stalls from council departments and services to give people the chance to find out more about what’s on offer.
The event will start at 6.30pm and run until 8.30pm.
Attendance is free but it is recommended to book a seat via the council’s Eventbrite page.
This is the second Medway Matters Live, after the first took place at The Howard School in Rainham in November.
Another was scheduled for June 18 at The Hundred of Hoo Academy, but once the general election was announced - restricting what the council can do in an election period - it had to be cancelled.
However, Cllr Maple has confirmed the roadshow will head to the Peninsula next year.
Cllr Maple said: “I am really looking forward to our next Medway Matters Live. It was disappointing that we had to cancel the one we had planned for June in Hoo due to the pre-election period restrictions.
“However, we are already working on plans for next year’s events and we are looking at holding our first in 2025 in Hoo.
“These Medway Matters Live events are a brilliant way for us to keep residents updated with the latest news from the council and to see a number of stands highlighting the wide range of services available, but most importantly we get to hear directly from you.”
Mr Hicks added: “We are delighted to be holding our second Medway Matters Live at The Historic Dockyard Chatham. This year marks the 40th anniversary of the closure of the Dockyard, and during that time it has been transformed into an iconic destination for residents and for visitors to Medway, as well as a home for residents and businesses.
“It remains one of the jewels in Medway’s crown, so being able to hold this event at such an impressive location is fantastic.
"We had great attendance at our first Medway Matters Live event and a number of important issues were discussed, so we hope to see as many of you as possible at the Dockyard Church in Chatham this November.”
