This man is being hunted after a woman was said to have been raped in an alleyway while on her way to a friend's house following a night out.
The victim, in her 30s, was allegedly attacked after leaving a nightclub in Chatham.
Detectives have praised people living nearby who rushed to her aid and raised the alarm in the early hours of Sunday.
The woman had left a New Road nightclub before walking along Railway Street and Rochester Street to visit a friend.
As she passed Chatham station, she was approached by a man described as being Eastern European who tried to befriend her.
Police said he was in his 30s, around 5ft 5in, of "proportionate" build and had a shaven head.
He was soon joined by a second man, also said to be of Eastern European appearance. The second man was skinny, with dark hair and wearing dark clothes and baseball cap.
In Rochester Street, the woman tried to rouse her friend without success.
She went behind Rochester Street via an alleyway off Corkwell Street, but the first man who tried to befriend her ran towards her.
He is said to have subjected her to the assault before fleeing in an unknown direction.
