Rapper Kanye West is the latest celebrity to join the list of famous names who have visited Chatham Historic Dockyard, after using it as the location for his new music video.
The rapper, who is married to the reality TV phenomenon Kim Kardashian, filmed the music video, for two singles All Day and I Feel Like That, in the Tarred Yarn Room at Chatham Historic Dockyard. The video was shot back in March and directed by 12 Years A Slave director, Steve McQueen.
The Tarred Yarn Store has previously featured in Call the Midwife, Sherlock Holmes and Les Miserables.
Nigel Crisp, estates surveyor for the dockyard, told KentOnline this morning that the nine minute video had been shot in one take.
He said the location manager for the video had been before and recommended it, with McQueen visiting the set on the Friday with the shooting take place on the next day.
Mr Crisp said: "It was very minimal, with just speakers in each corner. They followed him around the room with a steady camera."
He added: "We're always excited to have big names come down, and some of the Call the Midwife cast started off relatively unknown until filming here."
The Los Angeles County Museum of Art have been showing the video since Saturday for four days only.
The video was also shown during Paris fashion week in March, but has not yet been officially released.
