A resident was saved after their house went up in flames.
Two fire engines were called to the blaze, which started in a home last night in Richmond Close, Lordswood, last night.
Firefighters used a smoke hood, which protects people from inhaling toxic fumes, to help the person to safety.
The resident was passed into the care of paramedics.
Crews wearing breathing apparatus extinguished the flames using hose reel jets and cleared the home of smoke using a high-pressured fan.
It is believed the fire started accidentally due to an electrical fault.
It began at 11.22pm and firefighters were at the scene until 12.34am.
