Invicta Dynamos head coach Kevin Parrish says the club’s preparations for the new ENIHL Division 1 South season have been given a huge boost by the return of Peter Vaisanen.

Parrish has also lured a new netminder to the club, David Wride, who arrives from the Chelmsford Chieftains and he has persuaded defenceman Jack Tarczycki to commit to another season at the Silver Blades Ice Rink.

But it is Vaisanen’s return that will cause most excitement.

The 27-year-old Canadian forward (pictured) quickly become a fans’ favourite when he played for Dynamos in the 2009-10 season during which he scored 56 goals and made 54 assists to help Invicta claim the Southern title.

He stepped up to the English Premier League the following season to play for the Sheffield Steeldogs but his campaign was cut short by a serious shoulder injury and he returned to Canada for surgery.

Last season he played in Finland but has now decided to return to England.

Parrish said: "To have Vas back is a huge boost and a real sign of our ambitions.

"Vas is the perfect player – he’s a consummate professional, leaves everything on the ice, is a great guy to have in the dressing room and does all you ask of him.

"From an import forward you want goals but Vas takes more than that to the ice. He never quits, he hits like a freight train and he instantly gives the team momentum."
