Two people in a rowing boat had to be rescued after their vessel became stranded in the middle of the River Medway.
The alarm was raised at about 4pm after the pair got into trouble in the water near The Command House in Chatham.
Crowds watched from the riverbank as the emergency services were called.
A Coastguard crew was sent to oversee the rescue operation, while firefighters and police were also there to help.
The people on board appeared to have managed to tether the boat to a buoy and could be seen on the phone.
It is not known how they came to be stuck.
A rescue boat was launched from the slipway near the pub and the stranded pair were brought back to shore.
