One person is being treated for injuries following a crash involving three cars.
The London-bound A229 carriageway, on Blue Bell Hill, has been partly re-opened following the incident.
Police were in attendance at around 7.20am this morning.
One person involved in the collision was taken to a local hospital for treatment to injuries that are not described as life threatening.
The road was closed to allow vehicles to be recovered and for gritters to attend the scene.
The slip road onto the roundabout remained open but the road towards the Towns was blocked.
One lane will remain closed to allow repairs to be completed to a barrier on the central reservation.
A spokesperson from Kent Fire and Rescue said: "Kent Fire and Rescue Service was called to the Chatham-bound carriageway of Blue Bell Hill at 07:39 today.
"Two fire engines attended and crews stabilised a vehicle. One person was handed into the care of SECAmb paramedics."
Fire crews were also called to a van blaze on the A229, near Lord Lees Roundabout, at around 8.20am this morning.
