Traffic is being stopped by hay bales in the middle of a road.
Drivers have been taking caution in Mierscourt Road in Rainham since around 9.17am today after the huge piles of straw were left in the lane heading south.
Along with the hay, metal fasteners and ratchet straps have been seen across the floor further up the road.
One driver spotted the mess while driving her children to school and took to Facebook to warn others of the hazard.
She said: “I drove through this to do the school run about 9.30am so it hadn’t happen very long as my first drop off to Mierscourt School was 8.35am and got home just before 9am before I did the next drop off.”
A police spokesman said: “We were called at 9.17am to a report of debris, believed to be hay bales, in Mierscourt Road, Rainham.
“Officers are at the scene along with staff from Medway Council’s Highway’s Agency and the incident is being attended to.”
