Several oxygen tanks have been shed from a lorry forcing a busy road to be closed.
Capstone Road, Chatham, was closed in both directions near the Waggon at Hale pub while the vehicle was retrieved and the scene made safe.
Police were called to the spillage on the mini-roundabout in Ash Tree Lane and Capstone Road at about 1.10pm.
Traffic was queuing and drivers were warned to avoid the area.
It is understood Kent Fire and Rescue was alerted but was not needed.
Eye-witness Shaun Hayward, 54, from Walderslade was passing and saw what happened.
He said: "It looked like a welding supply van and had big oxygen bottles which tipped off the back.
"It doesn't appear to have involved another vehicle.
"A recovery lorry with a crane came and picked it up which did cause some havoc.
"People were all shouting and saying 'was it going to blow up?' It was quite an entertaining half an hour."
The road and was cleared shortly before 3pm.
