A key route was closed after a car overturned - while a major tunnel is also clogged up with congestion this morning.

The A229 City Way in Rochester has been shut in both directions after the incident.

Traffic was being diverted by police after the crash happened at the junction with Onslow Road.

Officers were called at 6.40am to a collision involving three vehicles.

Police are at the scene, while fire crews and ambulance teams were also called.

A road closure was in place near the City Way roundabout. The road reopened shortly before 10am.

No serious injuries have been reported.

There were also problems in the Medway Tunnel in both directions due to broken down vehicles.

A broken down black Peugeot left one lane closed heading towards Strood, causing congestion back to Gillingham Gate and around St Mary's Island.

Another vehicle left a lane in the tunnel shut heading in the opposite direction.

All lanes have been reopened and traffic has returned to normal.
