Delce Road in Rochester closed as vehicle smashes into bus stop after police chase

A road is closed after a vehicle driving away from police smashed into a bus stop in the early hours of this morning.

Officers have shut Delce Road in Rochester between Star Hill and Rochester Avenue.

Three people received medical attention following the crash and have been arrested.

Traffic is diverting via City Way and there is little congestion so far.

A police spokesman said: “At around 2.45am on Friday, a vehicle collided with a bus stop in Delce Road, Rochester.

“Shortly before, the driver had failed to stop for police when requested to do so.

“The driver, and two passengers, have been arrested in connection with the incident.

“They all received medical treatment prior to being taken into police custody.”
