A road remains closed after a serious accident involving two cars.

The crash happened at around 3pm on Maidstone Road in Rochester.

Police officers from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit are currently carrying out initial enquiries at the scene.

Kent Fire and Rescue Service and South East Coast Ambulance Service are also in attendance.

A police spokesman said: "A road closure is currently in place and motorists are advised to avoid the area if possible."
