A man has been flown to hospital with “life-threatening” injuries following a crash involving a car and a motorbike.
Canal Road in Strood was taped off after emergency services were called to the scene.
An air ambulance landed at around 11.50am in Frindsbury Park after paramedics were called at around 11.30am.
Police closed the road by The Boat House pub and were turning drivers around.
A spokeswoman from the ambulance service said: “Crews assessed and treated one person at the scene before flying them to Kings College Hospital for further medical treatment.”
Police have confirmed a man in his 60s, believed to be the motorcyclist, has suffered “life-threatening” injuries.
In the afternoon, The Boat House management team posted a message on their Facebook page addressing the situation.
It said: “Due to an Incident that happened on Canal Road this morning, the police have closed off Canal Road so we have closed for the day.
“Sorry for any inconvenience caused and we will be back open from 12pm tomorrow as usual.”
It is understood that the road is now open and traffic has returned to normal.
