Homes and businesses across Medway are picking up the pieces after Storm Katie bought high winds and heavy rain to the county.
With gusts of up to 70mph, the storm led to trees falling across roads, trampolines being blown away, as well as damage to many fences and roofs.
It was even noted by Twitter user Ben Thompson that the wind-sock on the motorway bridge had blown off.
Rochester Castle was closed for much of the morning but reopened the mural gallery in the afternoon, and a few tiles came off the Guildhall Museum but it remained open.
Organisers at the Festival of Steam and Transport almost had to delay the opening of the show but the event at Chatham’s Historic Dockyard began at 10am despite several marquees being lost due to the severe weather.
A statement posted on the website said: “A good number of exhibitors are still attending and the fun fair will be in operation as soon as it is safe to do so.
“The content will be affected, mainly due to a number of marquees being lost due to serve weather.
“Event organisers are doing all that it is possible to ensure we deliver the best, safe show possible in these extreme weather conditions.”
Trees were toppled on City Way, Rochester, and a fallen tree blocked Bunters Hill Road, Cliffe, for several hours.
Firefighters were called to remove a trampoline that had escaped from a garden and was blocking a road way in Sundridge Hill, Cuxton.
