A man has appeared in court in connection with a cash robbery and an assault on a shop worker.
Dedawan Kakel, of Princes Road, Middlesbrough, has been charged in relation to an incident at a business in Darnley Road, Strood.
A group of men are alleged to have assaulted an employee and stolen a quantity of cash at around 7.30pm on Monday March 8.
Kakel was arrested on Wednesday following an investigation by the Chief Constable’s crime squad.
The 24-year-old appeared before Maidstone Magistrates’ Court yesterday where he faced charges of robbery and one count of grievous bodily harm with intent.
He was remanded to appear before the same court on August 19.
Three men, aged 24, 30 and 36 have previously been arrested in connection with the incident.
They are from the Greater Manchester and Birmingham areas and have been released under investigation.
