Two teenagers from Rochester have been arrested in connection with the seaside rape of a 15-year-old girl.

The 17-year-old boys were held over the attack in an amusement park in Southend, Essex.

The pair were arrested on suspicion of offences under the Sexual Offences Act

They have now been released on police bail until December 8 while inquiries continue.

Police recently issued CCTV images of a number of young men they wanted to trace in connection with the rape, which happened behind the Adventure Island amusement park, off Marine Parade, at 10.30pm on Friday, April 8.

A Essex Police spokesman said the group has now been identified.
