Runout in reserves for popular Pennock

ADRIAN PENNOCK will be taking a first tentative step on the comeback trail this afternoon with an appearance for Gillingham Reserves against Norwich at Priestfield.

A bigger than average crowd is expected at the match to see the popular defender resume playing five months after sustaining a career-threatening injury at Birmingham.

The match is scheduled to kick off at 2pm. Gillingham coach Wayne Jones confirmed: "Ade will will play half an hour at the end of the game and everyone at the club is looking forward to seeing him back again.

"He's not only a very good player but a great lad to have around so we've missed him on the training ground and missed him on the pitch. We're all looking forward to seeing him back in a Gillingham shirt."
