The Wainscott northern bypass was closed this morning after a lorry and a car collided.

Traffic built up after the crash at the A228 Four Elms Hill just after 7am.

Both lanes of the London-bound carriageway were blocked while the vehicles were removed.

One lane was reopened at about 7.50am and the other shortly after.

A Kent Police spokesman said "The driver of the blue Toyota Verso is said to be in shock."
