GILLINGHAM chairman Paul Scally was delighted to have finally got his man with the appointment of Mark Stimson as first team manager.
Stimson signed a three and a half year contract today and takes charge of the team against Swansea tomorrow night.
Scally said: "It's taken a while coming but we've had to be patient because Mark hasn't been available until the last 48 hours for contractual reason. I think he will be a great manager for Gillingham."
Stimson said the job was a challenge that was looking forward to.
"It's a big opportunity and one that I cannot wait to start." he said.
"I did pretty well at Grays and Stevenage, and this is a step in the right direction for me."
