Schoolgirls have been the target of a serial flasher near a park.
Police are asking for witnesses following multiple incidents which took place in several roads near Jackson’s Playing Field in Rochester – close to both Fort Pitt Grammar School and St John Fisher Catholic School.
The first was on November 8 when two schoolgirls reported a man following them in Fort Pitt Street between 10am and 10.20am.
It was said while following them he was indecently exposing himself.
The next day, between 7.30am and 7.45am, near the row of shops in Ordnance Street, Chatham, four schoolgirls reported seeing a naked man standing near a bush.
The third incident was on November 15 between 12pm and 12.40pm on the pathway near Jackson’s Field, New Road. Again, a man was said to be standing near a hedge indecently exposing himself.
A fourth incident is also being investigated by police, which happened last Friday (November 17), at around 7.50am on an unpaved road near Fort Pitt Hill. Three schoolgirls said they saw a topless man standing near some bushes.
The suspect has been described as white, of slim build and average height.
In one incident he was said to be wearing a black coat, grey tracksuit bottoms, black boots and a green hat with a black satchel bag.
In another incident, the suspect was described as wearing a blue tracksuit with white stripes on the legs.
Detective Constable Sanj Tanday said: “I understand incidents of this nature can be alarming but I want to reassure the community that we are actively patrolling the area and are continuing to carry out enquiries to locate the suspect.
“We are also in touch with local schools and other stakeholders.”
