Schools across Medway have re-opened following the blanket of snow which fell on Monday.

Pupils at Bradfields and Silverbank Park, Walderslade Girls and Greenacre schools, along with Medway Community College, in Chatham, all had an extra day off lessons after snow fell during the early hours of Monday morning.

In Gillingham, Robert Napier Secondary in Third Avenue, and the Will Adams Centre, were also closed.

Medway Council have received no calls from schools today regarding closures.

Robert Napier Primary, in Napier Road, was closed on Monday and remains closed today because of staff training.

Elaine junior school in Strood was closed due to heating problems which have now been repaired, and the school is now open as usual.

A Met Office spokesman said temperatures were expected to rise today and no further warnings have been issued for the week ahead.
