A seal was spotted splashing about on the river banks at Medway Valley Park in Strood , this morning.
A woman spotted something on her way home from picking up some breakfast and had to double back to make sure she wasn't going crazy.
After stopping opposite Nuffield Health in Strood at around 8.30am, she saw the seal rolling around in the mud with its tail in the water.
The personal assistant who didn't want to be named, said: "It was very cute and just not something you expect to see in Medway. It's probably wondering how it ended up in here.
"I thought it cannot be a seal. I thought I was going to be really disappointed and pull over to see it was a pillow or something nasty.
"It just seemed a little too magical to be real but I had to go back to make sure I wasn't going crazy - imagining seals in the Medway River. I couldn't believe when I got back and it was in the same spot."
The mother-of-two added: "I get excited about stuff like that because my kids love animals.

"Hopefully we'll be able to see it better in the sun. I might take my daughter down there to have a look later, see if she can spot it."
