A woman from Halling is an a desperate search for her pet jackdaw.
JD the jackdaw was last seen at 10am Tuesday, February 5 when he uncharacteristically flew out of the window of his owner Abbi Mcilwraith's house near the River Medway.
The domesticated jackdaw then flew around the garden for a while whilst Miss Mcilwraith watched him.
"I wasn't looking for a minute or two and he was gone. It's not like him to do that."
Miss Mcilwraith, 23, has been looking after JD for two and a half years after he was rescued.
He was domesticated but was allowed outside to spread his wings, but would usually come back.
He is described as a very chatty bird about 7 inches tall and is not tagged.
"He makes sound like 'Hello', 'What' and a kissing noise.
"He sounds different to any other bird so they would most likely recognise his unique sounds, he's usually very chatty."
As they are quite easy to tame, jackdaws and ravens, were both fairly popular in Victorian times. Their appeal was that they could be taught to learn tricks and words.
There is an estimated 1.4 million pairs of jackdaws in the UK. Like magpies, they like shiny objects such as coins.
According to folklore, A jackdaw on the roof was said to proclaim a new arrival, but might also be a sign of early death.
Miss Mcilwraith has advised anyone who spots JD not to grab him as he will get frightened and fly off again.
If you think you have seen JD, please get in contact with Abbi via her Facebook page.
