A huge M&S store is set to remain shut for a second day after a power failure.
Staff at branch in Hemstead Valley Shopping Centre, Gillingham, have been unable to open the doors due to lack of power.
The outlet announced that it had been forced to close yesterday afternoon, just after midday.
It released a statement a short time ago announcing that the closure was still ongoing as power had not been restored.
The lack of power has left staff unable to open the entrance, nor scan and deliver orders.
The statement on social media read: “Unfortunately due to our network power failure we are still closed today.
“We’ve had lots of queries regarding orders and we are very sorry but due to the power loss we are unable to open the entrance to be able to hand any orders out.
“Due to no power we are not able to identify parcels for customers as they are stored by number and barcodes which means we cannot process any orders to be picked up.
“Thank you for your patience and understanding whilst we try to resolve this as quickly as we can.”
A statement from the shopping centre added: “Please note that M&S is closed today. We're sorry for any inconvenience. We will keep you updated as to when the store will reopen.”
