Shrubland destroyed by fire

An area of dry grass and shrubland was destroyed by fire.
The fire broke out on Motney Hill, Lower Rainham Road, Gillingham, on Wednesday evening and was captured on camera by Rainham resident Elizabeth Poynter.
Firefighters from Medway, Rainham and Gillingham stations were called out to tackle the blaze and spent several hours at the scene.
A spokesman for Kent Fire and Rescue Service, said: “We got the call at 5.40pm and most of the fire was out by about 6.45pm, but crews stayed at the scene until about 8pm make sure they damped down the hot spots.
