Signs for a new B&M store have been put up as the countdown to its arrival continues.
In December, the retailer confirmed it would be taking over the former Wilko at the Rainham Shopping Centre just off the High Street.
It later announced an opening date of Friday, February 23, and with that date now approaching, the building has now had the company's logo added.
The unit has been unused since Wilko fell into administration in September.
The building was showing signs of needing attention and a puddle was spotted after a leak.
B&M said the 11,819 sq ft store would undergo a comprehensive internal and external refurbishment programme before officially opening its doors at 8am.
Surrounding businesses are also excited about the new arrival having previously explained the loss of Wilko created a lack of footfall to the area.
The store manager from B&M said: “We’re feeling extremely positive about the creation of more jobs for local people, and we hope customers are going to be delighted with their new store.”
“We are all really excited to get the doors open and welcome new customers through the door.”
Adam Davies, asset manager at Evolve Estates, owner and manager of Rainham Shopping Centre, said: “This exciting new addition marks another significant milestone in our ongoing growth partnership with B&M, and we're confident it will be a huge hit with local shoppers.
“B&M's renowned value proposition aligns perfectly with the centre's vision to provide a convenient and accessible shopping experience for the entire community. We're committed to working closely with B&M and we look forward to welcoming them to Rainham very soon."
