The school has a reputation as a formidable charity fundraiser, having collected an astonishing £70,000 for Comic Relief in 2012, which led to a visit from comedian John Bishop during his marathon trek from Paris to London.

Sir Steve, who had a specially-made hooded top for his trip to the Math school, holds the record for winning five golds at five Olympics between Los Angeles in 1984 to Sydney in 2000.
