Snow has been seen falling in the county today as the cold snap has arrived.
Pictures have been sent to KentOnline of the white stuff coming down in Borstal, near Rochester.
Eyewitnesses have also reported snow in Sittingbourne and the Lordswood area of Chatham.
Kent was hit with low temperatures of -2C overnight and into this morning.
Snowfall has also been seen in Tunbridge Wells, Maidstone and Ashford.
South East Water has warned its 2.2 million customers in Kent, and the Home Counties to check unprotected water pipes and outdoor taps as the mercury plummets.
Unlagged water pipes in cold unheated places such as attics can freeze and then burst when the thaw happens.
Steve Andrews, head of operations at South East Water said: “Burst pipes are a very unpleasant and inconvenient problem and when they happen inside the boundary of a property are usually the responsibility of the householder to repair.
“To avoid a burst water pipe, home owners can take some easy steps to protect pipes and taps by lagging them with industry approved lagging from DIY stores.”
The weather forecast for the rest of today is mainly clear sunny spells and temperatures will reach 4C but temperatures are set to drop overnight to lows of -2C overnight and tomorrow morning.
Later tomorrow temperatures are set to reach 6C but mainly cloudy.
Kent's gritters will also be out across the county this evening. Temperatures are expected to fall below freezing point at about 7pm.
The gritters will be treating all main roads to prevent ice forming and motorist are advised to watch for icy patches overnight and tomorrow morning.
