The bus company Arriva struggled to run some services after being unable to get the buses out of the depot and some services are still subject to delays.

A spokesman for Arriva said: "We had difficulties getting buses out of Gillingham depot as a result of the snow and frozen gates this morning.

"As a result of wintry weather conditions at present, it may be necessary for us to alter the routes of some services, curtail journeys short of their normal destination, start services later in the morning than normal or finish services earlier in the evening where road conditions are such that we are unable to run a full service."
