Rochester man arrested after cocaine found behind car’s centre console in police spot check

Police found cocaine stashed behind a car’s central paneling during a spot-check.

Officers were patrolling in Corporation Street, Rochester, when a car came to their attention at around 7.20pm yesterday (November 23).

Officers waved the car to stop and upon searching found a stash of cocaine hidden inside the centre console.

A further search was then carried out at the driver’s home where police found cannabis, cash, and drug paraphernalia.

A 49-year-old man from Rochester was arrested on suspicion of drug offences.

He has since been released on until February 23, 2024 while further inquiries are carried out.
