Gillingham manager Mark Stimson has been pipped by Bury manager Alan Knill for the League 2 manager of the month award.

Stimson was on the shortlist for the Football League award after guiding Gillingham to four wins from five league games in January.

Also in the running was Darlington manager Dave Penney and Rochdale’s Keith Hill.

Bury started the month with defeat to Wycombe but followed that up with wins over Barnet, Aldershot, Bradford and Luton and also drew at Exeter.
