A stolen French bulldog has been reunited with its owners after being forcibly taken from its home.

Shay Hill and her eight-year-old daughter were left ‘traumatised’ after an intruder forced their way into the family’s home in Halling and snatched one of their dogs.

The incident was picked up on a neighbour’s CCTV camera in Kiln Way on Monday evening.

Footage appeared to show three hooded men fleeing the scene in Kiln Way and getting into a car, with one carrying away the family’s beloved pet, Luna.

Shay, who is seven months pregnant, had opened her door at about 8pm before being shoved out the way by a man.

She told KentOnline: “I just screamed and screamed that my eight-year-old daughter was in the house, and the man picked up the dog and ran out the door.”

Police confirmed yesterday they were investigating the incident.

A spokesman for the force said: “The occupant answered a knock at their door and their French bulldog ran from the house when a man allegedly tried to get into the premises.

“The suspect then left the scene with two other men and the victim’s dog.”

However, the owner have since taken to social media to say they have been reunited with the missing pet “anonymously by way of reward” following an appeal on Facebook which was shared nearly 3,000 times.

Shay posted: “From the bottom of my heart I really can’t express how grateful I am for how many people shared and helped and made her too hot to handle.

“The amount of good people that have helped get her home to my daughter I am so grateful I can’t say thank you enough.

“There is still a criminal investigation on the crime itself but the main thing is she home safe and well and we have a happy little girl.”
