A dominant second half display wasn’t enough to stop Medway from suffering a shock 20-16 defeat in London 3 South East at bottom side Park House on Saturday.
Medway trailed 20-3 at half-time before Roger Rhyneheart’s converted try and two penalties by Glen Wadsworth gave them hope of turning things around. However, they pounded the home line in the final 15 minutes without success.
Park House deserved their win according to coach Taff Gwilliam, who is now demanding Medway learn lessons from the defeat and re-discover the hunger and passion that has won them three titles in as many seasons.
They never recovered from a poor first half on a rain sodden pitch against opponents battling for survival.
Medway were 7-0 down early on. Wadsworth responded with a penalty, but Park House scored two more tries to open up a 17-point lead.
