A man found hanged in Strood woodland has been named as James Lattimore.

The 56-year-old was found in an area between Hyacinth Road and Thurston Drive on Sunday, May 29.

A post-mortem on the body of Mr Lattimore, of Chetney Close, Strood, revealed his cause of death as suspension.

The wood is on the Strood Community Trail, opposite the Texaco filling station on the A2 Watling Street.

When Mr Lattimore's body was found, police sealed off the area and turned back walkers while forensic officers examined the scene.

A Medway Coroner's Office spokesman said: "An inquest into his death has been opened and adjourned and will be resumed at a later date."
