A house has been damaged in a suspected arson attack.

Firefighters from Medway were called to a house in Gillingham on the junction of Victoria Street and Saunders Street at about 1pm today. The front door was alight.

By the time fire crews arrived on the scene police officers were also there and the fire had been put out.

A spokesman for the fire brigade said he believed it may have been arson.
