Comedian Jason Manford wore a suit designed by a Kent fashion student on ITV's Starstruck last night.
The judge said he decided to give the opportunity to students instead of wearing pieces from established designers.
And to kick it off last night, he wore an outfit created by third year fashion and design student Katie Butler who studies at the University of the Creative Arts in Rochester.
While sat next to Canadian singer-songwriter Shania Twain, Manford showcased the suit which had four red hearts running up either sleeve and matching tie.
He said: "Rather than going with the famous (and super expensive) designer suits every week on Starstruck I had another idea.
"Why not give the opportunity to hard working fashion students to design and make suits for the telly.
"So tonight is the first one, Katie Butler a third year BA fashion and design student at University of the Creative Arts, Rochester.
"I loved the job she did, she certainly wears her heart on her sleeve.
"And yes of course I paid them for the suits. Not going to have a load of students out of pocket am I?"
He has since been praised by fans for giving students the platform to showcase their work and supporting them to break into the industry.
Starstruck sees singers transformed into their idols and perform for a chance to win £50,000.
Four trios perform one song together before the judges choose one group to sing again, who then compete against one another to reach the final and take home the cash.
The second series, hosted by Olly Murs, is on Saturdays at 8.30pm on ITV1 and ITVX, with Adam Lambert, Beverley Knight, Shania Twain and Jason Manford as the celebrity judges.
