A man has been remanded in custody over a serious assault on a taxi driver in Chatham.
Myles Stevens, of John Street, Rochester, appeared before Medway Magistrates' Court charged with causing grievous bodily harm.
It follows an incident in Conifer Drive, Lordswood, on Tuesday where a 53-year-old man was hit over the head during an argument with a passenger.
The taxi driver suffered two cuts on his head and one to the neck and was taken to King's College Hospital, in London.
Stevens, 25, was remanded in custody and will appear at Maidstone Crown Court on a date to be set.
