A pervert teacher who admitted sexual activity with a pupil more than a decade ago has been jailed for two years.
Chris Hoile, who taught at independent and prestigious King’s School in Rochester, committed the offences with a 17-year-old girl.
The 43-year-old head of history and politics at the Rochester Cathedral school pleaded guilty to four offences of sexual activity with a child while in a position of trust and two of inciting a child to engage in sexual activity while in a position of trust.
Hoile, of Cecil Road, Strood, denied a third charge of sexual activity with the girl and it was left on the court file.
Hoile’s Facebook page states he started teaching at King’s in September 2004.
He studied history at Oxford University and also taught at University College School in Hampstead, north London, between 2001 and 2004, and at Hasmonean High School in Barnet from 1999 to 2000.
Judge Charles Macdonald QC had warned the offences “called for custody”.
Famous former pupils at King’s include Nobel prize-winning chemist Sir Derek Barton, Second World War flying ace Edward Mortlock Donaldson, former Conservative Cabinet Minister John Gummer, DJ Pete Tong and former Bishop of Trinidad Douglas Wilson.
