A teenage boy has been charged and remanded in custody following a knifepoint robbery over a scooter and a coat.
The victim, aged 17, was approached by a stranger in Maida Road, Chatham, before threats were made to hand over the scooter.
It is alleged to have taken place between 9.10am and 9.20am on Monday.
The offender is said to have been carrying a knife which was tucked into his waistband and made repeated threats to stab the victim, whose jacket was also stolen.
Police identified a suspect and on Tuesday officers arrested a 17-year-old boy from Chatham. He was charged with robbery and possessing a knife in a public place.
He appeared before Medway Magistrates’ Court yesterday (Wednesday) and was remanded in custody. His next hearing will be at the same court this Monday.
The suspect cannot be named for legal reasons.
