A teenager has been charged over a string of robberies in Medway.

Martin Argyelan, of no fixed address, is accused of five robberies, three attempted robberies, possession of an offensive weapon and a public order offence.

The 19-year-old was charged on Saturday and appeared at Medway Magistrates' Court on the same day. Argyelan was remanded in custody until Monday, September 26.

The offences are reported to have been committed in Gillingham last Thursday.
